An amazing sunset on Siesta Key Beach. On this evening, both the shore birds and the Snow Birds were out in force. Was the beautiful sunset caused or enhanced by the beat of the drum circle?? We'll never know! Siesta Key Beach, in Sarasota, Florida. has a tradition on Sundays called the Siesta Key Drum Circle. Drummers (many of whose style is reminiscent of the hippies of the 60s) circle at Siesta Key Beach every Sunday about 1 hour before sunset. If you're visiting on a Sunday, come just south of the main pavilion between lifeguard stands 3 and 4 on Siesta Public Beach. Just follow your ears. This is not a commercial event but local phenomenon that began spontaneously and now has a life of its own. There are two more shots of this sunset, a close-up and another view similar to this one, plus a version with a wood-plank treatment to give a more rustic, beach-house feel.
