Description
This large alligator strolled by a half dozen onlookers at Venice Rookery, near Venice, Florida. He didn't pay any attention to us, apparently intent on making his way to the lake a few yards down the path. Alligators look slow, but they can achieve speeds upwards of 35 mph for short sprints, so if he had been interested in any of us, we could not have outrun him!
