Description
Photographed through the window of the beach house where we usually stay at Cannon Beach, Oregon. The morning was foggy and mist hovered over the beach for a while but, later in the morning, the mist lifted, the clouds parted, and the beach warmed up to a beautiful 65 F, so we headed down for a walk on the beach down to Haystack Rock.
The Oregon Coast is very different from Florida's warm, white sand and blue-green water. In Oregon, the coast is wild and rough, often with strong, cold winds, rain or deep fog, and strong waves. The water is dark blue, choppy, and sometimes has big breakers that can bring in dangerous, full-sized logs. Pines and Firs grow right up to the coast and often grow on the huge rocks that stand like sentinels in the surf. There are high cliffs and rocky coves, but there are also miles and miles of gorgeous, wild beach.
