Sarasota, Florida has a huge number of lovely vintage houses and apartments in what some call "Old Florida Style." Typically, this style is Italian Renaissance, but there are coastal cottage styles (as this is), bungalows, Key West style, and many other styles from the 1920s through the 1950s. This example was photographed in the downtown area known as "Laurel Park", where there are strict rules in place for maintaining the historic homes. This lovely, old apartment building is a second-story walk-up, with parking beneath. I love the intricate, yellow railing with the red trimmed handrail that ties in with the red tile roof. This original photograph has been digitally watercolored by the photographer/artist and is signed and year-dated.
