Description
A Great White Egret photographed at the Venice Rookery near Venice, Florida. The pair were building their nest with the male flying off to bring nesting sticks and the female doing the building. The Venice Rookery is a relatively small pond with an island in the center where many species of birds build their nests each mating season. It's a great spot to get photo ops for those of us who like photographing birds. There are also at least a couple of large alligators who live in the pond!
