A tropical, Florida Sunset captured in Sarasota, Florida on the last day of May, 2016. Sunset photographs are often in some exotic location, but even though I live within walking distance of Sarasota Bay, this series of three photos was taken from my front porch in a typical downtown Sarasota neighborhood. In the summer, these cumulus clouds form almost every afternoon, bringing thundershowers and the possibility of beautiful sunsets. It's a continual show that never fails to impress! Cumulus clouds are often precursors of other types of cloud, such as cumulonimbus, when influenced by weather factors such as instability, moisture, and temperature gradient. Normally, cumulus clouds produce little or no precipitation, but they can, and in Florida's summers, often do grow into the precipitation-bearing cumulonimbus clouds.
