This beautiful little chapel is in the woods near Bella Vista, Arkansas. It is the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel, Designed by architects E. Fay Jones and Maurice Jennings of Fayetteville AR, the chapel is constructed around 15 main arches towering 50 feet high. Within each of the 15 main arches are 3 or 4 Gothic arches. Glass and steel are the building blocks of this structure, with 31 tons of steel joining 4,460 square feet of glass, creating an aura of strength yet weightlessness. It is built on a wooded hilltop overlooking Lake Norwood and surrounded by towering pines and oaks. Because the chapel's structure is transparent, light and shadow create ever-changing patterns within the interior.
