Description
Beach walkers gather near Haystack Rock (off camera) at low tide to enjoy the beautiful tide pools teeming with sea creatures such as Starfish, Anemones, and various shellfish. The kids are especially enthralled and love seeing what interesting critters live here. This morning started off cool and misty, but the clouds cleared and it was a beautiful, windless day for a walk on the Oregon Coast.
The Oregon Coast is very different from Florida's warm, white sand and blue-green water. In Oregon, the coast is wild and rough, often with strong, cold winds, rain or deep fog, and strong waves. The water is dark blue, choppy, and sometimes has big breakers that can bring in dangerous, full-sized logs. Pines and Firs grow right up to the coast and often grow on the huge rocks that stand like sentinels in the surf. There are high cliffs and rocky coves, but there are also miles and miles of gorgeous, wild beach.
